Part C: Landscape

For the land transportation, the physical landscape has been made to accommodate roads, sidewalks, and rails for the trolley trains. There are large areas in certain areas of Granville Island where cans and vans can park but buses only need to stop and go outside of Granville, they dont stop inside Granville Island. The hand pushed trolleys and strollers rarely stop and they are quite small so they dont need an area to park in. The boats and kayaks travel around in water, not land, so nothing has been modified though decks are needed to keep the kayaks and ferries and boats. 25% of Granville Island is used for storage of parked transportation devices. Part D:Observation for 10 minutes Transportation In Out Vanpool 1 0 Mini Vans 17 5 Cars 41 18 Aquabuses 3 1 Ferries/ Boats 0 (Many are already docked) 0

The cars usually carry 3-4 passengers including the driver, the Vanpool usually carries 5-6 people and Mini Vans carry 3-5 people including the driver. The aquabuses usually carry 8-10 people.

Part E: Transportation and The Build Urban Environment

There arent many parking spots around Granville Island for cars so that may suggest an attempt to stop people from coming in cars. The people who work at Granville Island either park in special areas, regular parking spots, or outside Granville Island. The architecture on Granville Island isnt much affected except that there are roads between buildings, large and small.

Part F: Strategy

If only pedestrians were allowed on Granville Island, there wouldnt be that much noise or hassle waiting for cars to pass by so you can cross the street. We could just get people to park around Granville Island, at a short walking distance away or they could take the ferry to Granville Island from Science World, etc. This would help the congestion problem and it wouldnt be moved to another spot.
